A Tribute to Mrs. Joyce Aiwansedo

I am deeply honored to pay tribute to the incredible Mrs. Joyce Aiwansedo, a woman whose warmth and spirit touched everyone she encountered. Though I didn’t have the privilege of knowing her during my younger years, the countless stories shared by my dear friend painted a vivid picture of her extraordinary character.

I finally had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Aiwansedo at my goddaughter’s birthday celebration, a day that will forever remain etched in my memory. Her presence was like a gentle breeze, bringing joy and light to every corner of the room. With a pleasant and buoyant personality, she embraced everyone with a motherly love that knew no bounds.

Mrs. Aiwansedo’s wisdom, humility, and kindness were evident in every interaction. On that special day, she didn’t just attend the birthday party; she enriched it with her vibrant spirit. She helped decorate, cooked the most delicious meals, and sang and danced with us, infusing the celebration with her youthful energy. Her ability to connect with people of all ages was truly remarkable, and my children still joyfully sing the African birthday song they learned from her.

Mrs. Aiwansedo was an amazing woman who touched many lives with her generosity and love. Her memory will forever live on in our hearts. We will greatly miss her, but we find comfort in knowing that her gentle soul has found peace and rest.

Rest in peace, Mrs. Joyce Aiwansedo. You will always be remembered with love and gratitude.

From Daniel Omosigho

To my dearest cousin’s sister, words failed me when you suddenly dismayed me. However, I’ll never forget those wonderful moments growing up, looking out for each other in a hurry.
I remember this particular moment during the Civil War when the Biafra soldiers invaded Benin, you came looking out for me and we both hid under the desk before we were rescued and many more thereafter.

Such a caring and loving you. Aah you left a wide vacuum in me no one can fill.

Continue resting on, beautiful soul, till we meet & path no more.
